Madeleine Bernstorff

Filmprogrammer, writer, cultural producer, teacher

Exploring the cinema of avantgarde groups, migration and resistance movements, as well as early cinema in research-based, feminist oriented and mostly collaborative projects. She teaches film history for art students at numerous art academies and universities, f.e. documentary theory, experimental film, boundaries of documentary, the small form. Member of the selection committee of the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen since the year 2000. In 2016/17 she worked with a group producing short video spots mobilizing against the rightwing structural racism in the context of NSU-Complex: www.tribunal-spots.net

Yakov Lurie

  

 

Co-founder and contributing editor at glukk.com. In different proportions studied film, new media and sound at Aalto University in Helsinki, Berlin University of the Arts, Bard College in New York and Smolny College in Saint-Petersburg. Worked as a coordinator at Message to Man IFF. Published articles on film and visual media in “Iskusstvo Kino”, “Articult” and “Yet Magazine”.

Marc Pelletier

Was born in Nova-Scotia, Canada, but now works in Montreal where he co-founded an artist-run film and video cooperative, ON EST 10. Since 2010, he has been developing special frame-by-frame animation techniques for his experimental films, which are characterized by an oscillation between abstract form and figurative representation, often creating a nebulous environment to be experienced by the viewer. His films have been screened and well received in several prestigious festivals such as the Edinburgh International Film Festival, the International Film Festival Rotterdam, the Ann Arbor Film Festival, among others.

Andrea Slovakova

Documentarist, teacher, programmer. She studied Mass Media Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University in Prague, after graduation received the first postgraduate degree. Graduated also from Film Science at the Philosophical Faculty of Charles University, where is now finishing the postgraduate studies. She studied documentary film-making at FAMU in Prague. Since 2003 until 2011 she worked in the management of Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival, in the last years as the director for publishing activities. Now she co-operates with Jihlava IDFF as programmer of experimental films and teaches history and methods of documentary film at Masaryk's University in Brno. As an artist, she made e.g. the portrait of Czech mathematician Petr Vopěnka, film about clouds or film essay about supervision mechanisms.
